Prior to today, I am a complete computer novice. I didn't get a household computer until my Freshman year of high school, and I only got a personal computer just this year. Although my lack of experience is evident, I consider myself to be an effective user of common applications, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as I frequently had to use  them in my schooling. Previously, in terms of technological work, I worked with programs including Photoshop, Balfour Editing, and several Adobe applications, as an editor for my school's online newspaper and yearbook. In these programs, I am a master of the basics, but I still am hoping to learn more.

In this class, I hope to vastly expand my abilities in the field of technology. As my major is in education, I am seeking to become an effective computer user, to allow me to be the most effective teacher I can be in the future. I am also greatly aware of the growing need of technology within and outside of the classroom. As such, I am hoping to expand my skills to help my aspiration in varying fields, in and out of my major course-track, specifically, in the realm of Microsoft Excel. In this course, I am also hoping to gain a greater understanding of the various was that technology can be useful as a tool in the classroom, and how to better implant it into curriculum. Overall, I hope to learn more about how to effectively use common technology in general.
